Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation Shell Ivory Review:
As a long time fan of Wet n Wild, I’m really excited when I heard they will launching a new foundation. I never tried any of their foundations (if I’m not mistaken they only have 2 foundations before) so I can’t wait to try it. I got mine from an online reseller with an affordable price because at that time the foundation can’t be purchased in my country yet.
Before I bought it, some online reviews were saying good things and bad things about this foundation but it won’t prevent me from purchasing it. The main reason why I really want to try it because they claim this foundation is perfect under 7 light conditions which intrigues me so much. I never saw any foundation with that kind of claim so I want to get it myself to test it.
Your skin, only better. Our new high-performing, skin-perfecting foundation underwent major road testing under seven different photo lighting conditions to deliver flawless camera-ready makeup every time.

Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation Shell Ivory Review:
Since I bought it online, I got myself the wrong shade. I should pick the lightest shade Porcelain but I got the second lightest shade instead. Based on the bottle, I was afraid the shade will be too dark for me but lucky me it’s not! The shade is a little bit too dark for me but once I blend it on my face, it matches my neck color so I’m really happy about it.
They have 20 shades available so you may have a hard time deciding which one you should get but on the good side, everyone can find their perfect shade!
When I opened my package, I’m surprised Wet n Wild uses a glass bottle for their foundation. It feels more luxurious but to be honest I prefer a plastic tube or a plastic bottle instead of a glass. I’m a clumsy girl so glass packaging is not the best for me and I have to pay extra attention to the foundation if I want to bring it with me for travelling.
The applicator is really unique, it’s a plastic with paddle shape and to use the foundation, you just have to swipe the applicator either on your hand first or directly on your face. I prefer swipe it directly on my face, but actually it’s not hygienic at all. That’s why I make sure no one else will use this foundation except me.
One thing I notice the most is the scent of the foundation. Its scent is so strong, it smells like a nail polish or even a freshly-dried paint. I’m lucky I don’t have any allergic or sensitivity to scented make up product but I really dislike the smell but after I blend the foundation, the scent won’t linger anymore.
The texture is liquidy, it’s really easy to blend because of the thin texture but as it has water as its based, it can be patchy if you blend it with a brush. I tried using a brush before but the finish is so patchy, doesn’t blend properly, and even sinking into my dry patches. Then I tried using a damp beauty sponge and the finish was much more natural.
With this kind of formula, you can’t expect a full coverage foundation. It barely covers my redness so if you have bad acne scars, you may use more than a layer to cover up your imperfections. I do have redness, dark spots, and acne scars but I don’t mind with the coverage because it looks like my real skin.
Every time I apply it, it looks so dry on my skin but after I let it set for a few minutes, it sets properly and looks good on the skin. It has a semi matte finish on my skin type and if you have dry skin, the finish may look more matte on you.
I have oily skin so it’s a real test for the foundation if it’s long lasting or not. I have to say the longevity is not the best. It does stay on my face but it looks really cakey and patchy. After 5 to 6 hours I can see blots of my skin where the foundation wear off and even when I using it with a primer, the foundation still look patchy and easy to rubbed off.
Is it look good under 7 different lightings? I tried outdoor lighting, indoor lighting, bathroom lighting, and flash lighting but I didn’t see any difference. It’s good that it doesn’t have a flashback but I didn’t see anything special. It looks just the same as my other non-SPF foundation.
Will I repurchase it? I don’t think so. This one matches my skin well and even though I love the finish, I prefer long lasting foundation especially because I have oily skin.
