[REVIEW] Whamisa by Glow Recipe Green Tea Serum Toner

Whamisa by Glow Recipe Green Tea Serum Toner Review:

This innovative serum toner duo was cooked up through a collaboration with well known K-beauty retailer Glow Recipe and equally as well known K-cosmetic brand Whamisa. The collaboration was intended to introduce new and perhaps not so new K-beauty consumers around the world to Whamisa grade products at a more budget friendly price without compromising quality and effectiveness.

I decided to purchase this product when formulating my skin care routine late 2017. It is one of my first introductions to both Whamisa brand and Glow Recipe brand products.

Claims:

+ The product claims to instantly flood skin with intense hydration while imparting antioxidants to treat and refine troubled skin.

+ The water-free toner is perfect for the ‘7 skin method’ featuring Kale and Broccoli to brighten and refine troubled skin with high concentrations of vitamins A and C.

Ingredients:

Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water, Brassica Oleracea Acephala Leaf Extract, Aspalathus Linearis Leaf Extract, Diglycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Extract, Spinacia Oleracea (Spinach) Leaf Extract, Apium Graveolens (Celery) Extract, Algin, Lactobacillus/ Camellia Sinensis Leaf Ferment Filtrate, Spirulina Platensis Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder, Brassica Oleracea Acephala Powder, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Alcohol, Aniba Rosaeodora (Rosewood) Wood Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Geranium Maculatum Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil

This product is formulated without parabens, synthetic dyes or fragrance.

How To Use:

1. Use after cleansing to soothe and condition skin.

My Skin Type: Normal/Combination

Whamisa by Glow Recipe Green Tea Serum Toner Review:

I love love love this toner and can not say enough good things about it! The consistency is that of the perfect blend of a lightweight serum and toner, as you will find when dispensing it from the bottle onto the back of the hand.

The texture is not quite like the thicker richer toners Whamisa often offers, but more of a silkier bouncy quality, that waters down as it warms up and is distributed on the skin.

This serum toner has a vaguely sweet scent, it isn’t offensive by any means but there is also a milder scent of perhaps the leafy greens as well. It reminds me of a scent that might accompany your more natural skincare products. For me, it is quite refreshing, & it does go away fairly quickly after being absorbed into the skin leaving behind a faint scent of green tea.

The toner bottle is in my opinion travel friendly, I have traveled with it myself and have experienced no leakage when the top is properly screwed shut. The toner does dispense in dropper form, but because the toner is slightly thicker in consistency it is very easy to control the amount dispensed down to the very drop.

You will probably experience some running of the product down the sides of the screw top after dispensing, but that is most likely due to non other than gravity himself and also again, the consistency does not allow for this toner to run as freely from the dispenser top.

I believe the stopper in place was raised for this reason (to further prevent product running) as well. You can easily take care of that by just wiping the sides where the cap screws on with a tissue, however I will say even then you won’t get much runniness from this product as it sort of just, sits there.

Tip: The key when dispensing this product is to not be afraid to tilt the bottle. The product is too thick to come flowing out of the dropper top, what you’ll experience is more akin the product dribbling out if anything, but also because it is a dropper top, you will have more control in how much product you actually want dispensed. When my bottle was more full I had to quite literally shake the product out almost, because there wasn’t as much empty space in the bottle to facilitate an easier pouring type motion.

The serum toner does have a nice cooling sensation when applied and soaks into skin seamlessly. I actually have layered this toner at night without applying other skincare on top before going to bed only to wake up to glowy hydrated skin the next morning and during winter too!

I love that the first ingredient is green tea instead of regular water and also that it contains fermented and leafy green vegetable ingredients so I know I’m truly giving my skin a punch of vitamins and skin softening benefits. It really works great as an in between layering step before another serum, ampoule or cream.

I believe this product has seriously improved my skin condition! I would recommend this product for those looking to add that extra boost of skin loving ingredients to their day or night routines. I am about a little over halfway through the bottle and am already excited to repurchase! I expect that this product will become a mainstay in my skin care routine for some time.
